Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has been slated to open October 1st, 2021, just in time for the WDW 50th Celebration. Remy’s ride has been a fairly popular attraction at Disneyland Paris for quite some time and now Epcot is getting its own version of this attraction. This ride will be Walt Disney World’s third trackless attraction (the first being Rise of the Resistance and the second being Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Hollywood Studios). Guests are “shrunk down to the size of a mouse” with Remy and are taken across familiar locations from the Ratatouille film while also being chased by Chef Skinner one of the main antagonists of the film. This ride gives out 3D glasses to make the projections stand out. Like most Disney 3D experiences in the parks, it should be ok without the 3d glasses if there are neuro-divergent members of a party with sensory issues that prevent wearing them. The ride is mostly a projection-based ride with no audio animatronics featured in the ride. I’d say its closer to a show like Philharmagic at the Magic Kingdom but with a ride vehicle to take guests through the scenes rather than a stationary theater.
Remy has also been given a new area in the France Pavilion that gives more shops and a restaurant to add even more to the Paris area which is a major plus to this attraction. The area matches the rest of the Paris Pavilion while featuring characters and familiar locations from the Ratatouille Film. There is a decent amount of new merchandise for the ride. From t-shirts, aprons, chef jackets, and hats, as well as remote controlled Remy and Emile that can be placed on or under a shirt and they mimic crawling around (this is sure to be a big hit with kids). Overall while I’m not crazy about no audio animatronics in a ride. I do feel that this ride and the area based on it are a must see for anyone venturing into the Epcot area. This will be a great tool in helping kids get more into walking around the Countries featured in World Showcase.
