Closures Announced: Stitch's Great Escape, Primeval Whirl,....and Rivers of Light?

Disney has announced the permanent closures of: Stitch's Great Escape in Magic Kingdom, Primeval Whirl in Animal Kingdom, and Rivers of Light in Animal Kingdom. Closures at the Disney parks are not really anything new. Stitch's Great Escape has actually been closed for quite some time already so for this news, it's not a big surprise.

Primeval Whirl had only been opening for busy times at Animal Kingdom much like they were running Stitch before it fully closed. They seem to be making a quicker move with Primeval Whirl this time.

  With this I am hopeful they will make some good decisions on what to use these areas for. I would like to see a ride based around the new Donald Dino Bash area.

 As for Stitch I recall rumors of a Wreck-it Ralph experience and that never really caught my eye even though I am a fan of the film. Honestly I'd love to see them put Alien Encounters back into the space.

The biggest surprise to me is the closure of Rivers of Light. I had heard this night-time water and light show was fantastic. I never really got to experience it myself. I was hoping to finally get to see it upon my next Disney World trip but I'll cross my fingers maybe there is a new and even better show in the works.

Disney is going through a lot of changes right now due to having to maintain lower attendance with the current pandemic and these changes are likely apart of that. Hopefully, once things clear up we will discover what new adventures Disney has in store for us.
