With all of the amazing things that are coming to Disney Springs and all of the really exciting themed restaurants and stores, why is there no craft store? I don't mean a Joann's, Hobby Lobby or Michael's (though I've given my share of money to all of them) but a Disney licensed craft store.
A quick search on Etsy, Instagram or eBay, and you'll find literally hundreds of talented makers and artist. All are people who shows their immense love for Disney properties in amazing ways. From cos-players, to jewelry makers, clothing designers to painters and every maker in between, Disney is missing out on a very lucrative market.
Can you imagine buying the exact mixed paint colors they used for some of the iconic movies? Or a pattern and the right material for making an exact replica costume? Licensed fabric with your favorite characters on it? I know you can get similar items now, but if you could get any of this at Disney Springs or Downtown Disney, I for one would probably spend my last few dollars.
It would be nice to have access to their high quality items. I am not sure why they have not done this yet. Disney, if you need ideas, I've got plenty. I know there are plenty of really good craft stores, but who cares? No big deal.
I know Disney has some in-depth cross-stitch patterns and the plain vinyls that you can paint yourself, but I truly feel they can do better. And with the pandemic keeping many people at home, a website solely for crafting would make them a lot more money with very little effort.
