Get Your Disney Fix at Home!

*This Blog has not been sponsored by any business or this has been written purely out of the joy of attempting to find ways to bring the Disney Parks Magic to yours and our homes.*

Growing up in the very early 90s there really wasn't anywhere near as many things to help when you missed the Disney Parks while at home. We mostly used to watch a few VHS tapes with our old home videos, Episodes of Walt Disney World inside out, some older Disneyland Specials, and Muppets go to Disney World that we had recorded from the TV. When the internet age hit I began to find small things here and there.

First off was we found was live365.com a site dedicated to internet radio stations. Here you could find more niche music stations, however, for me, it was where I found Disney Park ride audio and area music. I would have live365 going almost all day long before it closed down. I noticed it has returned to the internet but the Disney World radio stations don't seem to of fully returned yet. Eventually, we discovered some Disney news sites as well as a podcast or two that we would use pretty frequently.

However, now we have so many more things we can do and use to bring us back to the magic when we are at home:

A great way to get your Disney Park fix is to remember a smell since that is a great gateway into memory. The Magic Candle Company is probably one of the best examples. They offer candles, fragrance oils, wax melts, air fresheners, hand sanitizers, and many other products with smells right out of the parks. They also have a subscription box that is a monthly subscription featuring an 8oz candle, 4oz room spray, wax melt, and air freshener picked at random starting at $24.95 a month with other subscription variants offering a discount. They add new scents often enough I'd strongly suggest following their Instagram and Facebook group to keep up with it.

The next thing is live streams on youtube. There are a great many YouTubers going out almost daily to live stream around the different parks. These live streams for those who haven't experienced one before are like watching live television but its someone with a camera walking around the parks at that moment. If you are watching on a phone or on the computer you can even chat with them.

Live streams, not your thing? Or maybe you're watching when the parks are closed and no one is streaming? Youtube has a bevy of great YouTubers to watch to give you a good look at the parks. Just give it a look around and you'll find some great content, maybe even some from us in the near future!

Recreating your favorite snacks at the parks is also another great way to recapture the feeling of being in the parks. You can google or look up videos on youtube almost any food on the Disney property and someone will likely have a video of how to replicate it. The only downer to this is while I have tried to do this a few times Disney definitely doesn't typically skimp on the ingredients and some are not carried in our grocery stores.

While not the craziest about social media I do strongly suggest getting on Instagram and looking up Disney World on there. So many great people putting up fun pictures and videos, including a great one called wedfanblog_official!..... Shameless plug aside you really could benefit from having some of the Disney Parks or Universal Parks Instagram people on your feed since mostly all the ones I have found are positive and feature some great shots that remind you what it was like to be there yourself.

Well that will wrap things up for this post but I will definitely be making more posts like these so make sure you subscribe to our email list, join us on Instagram wedfanblog_official, and Twitter @wedfanblog so you can be kept informed of all things Disney and Theme parks with WEDfanBlog!
