No More Masks at Disney?

Walt Disney World was one of the forerunners in handling the pandemic last year allowing the parks in Orlando Fl to keep going even though no vaccine had been set in place for the American populous. Each week, the parks have been pulling back on many of the covid procedures that have been put in place during the pandemic.

Earlier this year Disney started to remove signs from trash cans as well as no longer leaving the lids propped open. Temperature checks have almost all been removed from entrances to parks, hotels, and restaurants. The Six feet spacing between guest parties when in ride queues or restaurant lines is now set to around Three feet spacing. Theater showings like Philharmagic and The Enchanted Tiki Room are now filling up each row asking that a seat is left empty between parties. Most rides are now filling up all rows where at least one would be left between guest groups. Many stores are no longer limiting capacity and are no longer having you enter a specific entrance. Best of all is that Masks are no longer required in open areas outside of queues or any location where people are close together. This is primarily for guests who have gotten the vaccine. This includes no more masks when taking pictures!
Now with the Mayor of Orange County reportedly planning to remove all remaining mask mandates across the region this upcoming Friday 06/4/2021. This will open the door for Walt Disney World to fall in line with Universal Studios who had claimed that they were removing all mask requirements still in effect. Here at the WEDfanBlog home, when we heard Universal’s plans to drop the mask requirements, we figured Disney World would not be far behind on matching this decision. As this year goes on, we seem to be stepping closer and closer to returning to normal.
