Rise of Resistance Down Today! *Updated* 8/12/2020

*Update* 8/12/2020 Rise of Resistance, Muppet Vision 3D, and anything else affected by the lightning strike is back up and running today!

On 8/10/2020 a powerful lightning strike hit Black Spire Outpost in Disney World's Hollywood Studios. The strike was captured with a quick video posted by @Austin_Cop_17 on twitter.

No one was hurt and no immediate damage to the area was detected however as of today, 8/11/2020 the ride, Rise of Resistance, has been closed all day. As well as a few other nearby attractions like Muppet Vision 3D. Rise of Resistance being the newest and one of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World, sparking daily incredibly long waits that have to be handled by creating "boarding parties" that must be reserved on the MyDisneyExperience app. For this ride to be closed down for at least an entire day is likely a pretty serious situation.

Disney Parks all have an effective lightning rod system to attempt lightning from causing any damage. The Walt Disney World area being within "the lighting state" storms are fairly common to the area, especially during the summer months. I have no doubt in my mind that the Walt Disney World team will have everything running smoothly in no time, however, there is no listed time when the affected attractions will be up and running again. We will update here when announced.
